It’s a bit of a shock to realize that May is here already and autumn's happening all around us. The passage of time is relentless and seems to accelerate with each passing year. I hope these few pages find you well and enjoying that special Holden......there's certainly been ample opportunities of late. Much has been happening within the automotive world and the Club......
Despite the cooler conditions members have been out and about.....the recent "Club Rally" proved to be a great event. The day required a considerable amount of organization and I thank Dave and Kym for their effort in making it happen. The Cruden Farm, "family day out'' was another enjoyable day. Several members were seen at the FE-FC State Titles and others generously gave of their time on ANZAC Day to help transport veterans. There has also been a Ladies Weekend Away....... an event which I have absolutely no inside information on.....probably a good thing....all things considered. As always, "Lions Pride” endeavors to provide various opportunities for members to enjoy their cars but in the end it’s up to you.
As you are no doubt aware, the Club Run to Central Australia draws closer and final details are now in place for this 5000 KM road trip. The starting point is Mannum, SA, on Monday Sept. 9th and the event will finish at the same place on Thursday Sept. 26th. Overnight stops include Port Augusta, Woomera, Coober Pedy, Kulgera and Roxby Downs among others We have organized to stay at Uluru for 5 nights before commencing the return journey. The focus has been to make this journey as accessible as possible by including several two night stops and minimizing daily traveling distances. Many of you have shown interest in this event but find themselves to be time challenged.......it is possible to do just part of the event or simply travel one way as several of you have already arranged. If you haven't had the opportunity before, this event will allow you to experience a little more of this great country........if you've already been there then you can’t help but want to return.........well, that's how it works with me anyway! If you’re interested come and have a chat and yes, we are taking the Club banner for that all important photo at The Rock.
In conclusion, Lions Pride NSW are organizing our next get together. This event will take place over the 2014 ANZAC Day long weekend at Bathurst, NSW and will include a daytrip to Jenolan Caves. Those of you who participated in last years event will be keen to build on what was great weekend and a significant milestone in the history of this great Club. If any of you folk from NSW wish to join our little run to the Centre you would be most welcome.
Until Next Time,
