A View From The Top "

G'Day All,

Just returned from a great drive to the Maffra Auto Museum ,where KB dropped of the EK , which is entered into the Holden exhibition which runs till October .We traveled on back roads from Moe and enjoyed a scenic drive across some interesting stretches of had also stopped raining for the first time in two days....... bonus ! I reckon "Lions Pride" needs to support this special event and Macca .

The shortest day of the year is now behind us and we can all enjoy an extra minute of light per day....that's 7 minutes per week which is half an hour per month....not that I'm counting or anything ! Despite being in the darkest depths of winter , much has been happening around the Club, we've even managed to enjoy a couple of terrific runs.

Those of you who took a chance on the weather and supported the runs to "Historic Winton" and Alexandra for the "Truck and Ute Show " were certainly rewarded with two wonderful days of automotive indulgence . The drive out of the Yarra Valley through Yea and Maindample and across to the Hume is a personal favorite and it certainly didn't  disappoint ....... Jon and Rob and their pair of handsome VH SL/E 's were welcome guests on our run to Alexandra .

The AGM is almost upon us and I request that all members attend this special occasion and support " Lions Pride ." The Club is covering the cost of a Pizza and light refreshments as a small token of appreciation to all .........As far as the committee is concerned , Cheryl will not be nominating for re-election . She has been Club Secretary for the past 4 years during a period of considerable growth for " Lions Pride. " Cheryl, your contribution has been greatly appreciated and I certainly respect your desire to focus on other matters at this time....... good luck ! I ask all members to consider their options regarding committee is absolutely essential for the future of our Club that the membership does not become too complacent and simply leave everything to somebody else........get involved because this is YOUR CLUB !!!!

As mentioned at the June MGM, "Bowdens Own" have joined us as a new Club sponsor . I welcome this development and its a privilege to be associated with a local organization responsible for such high quality product . I appreciate Elliot's foresight in recognizing the possibilities of this association and the effort he has put into developing it to this stage . Elliot's informative product presentation certainly raised awareness of the alternatives to the well known imported range of car care products . A quick search online will confirm the Bowden's family commitment to the restoration and perseveration of our motorsport heritage...... their QLD museum is home to the Beechey Monaro and Brock's A9X among many others. These vehicles are much more than static displays , they are driven and enjoyed at events all over the country, just as they were all those years ago . The Bowden's originally developed product for their own use and over time the range has expanded and is now commercially available . Dan has provided the Club with product for our AGM Auction as well as information regarding just what's  available.... "Bowdens Own" premium car care products can be purchased online or at Autobarn . Dan has also arranged a 10 % discount for Club members across the entire range of product at a particular store.......more info soon. I believe " Lions Pride " and " Bowdens Own " are a good 'fit'.....we share a passion for our Australian heritage and are only interested in using the very best products on our vehicles .....

I would like to take this opportunity to wish both Duncan and Matt a speedy return to good health after your recent  stay in hospital........if there is anything the Club can help with please don't hesitate to ask......

Until Next Time,
