Welcome to the yearís first newsletter.....hope it finds you rested and enthusiastic about the motoring year ahead. The next few months will find us spoilt with automotive choice.......not a bad problem to have! Itís a truly magical time for all those who appreciate the wide, wide world of motoring. So take advantage of the opportunities ahead and make sure to get that special Holden out and about. Show the rest of the world that you are serious about preserving our automotive heritage and keeping the passion alive in these difficult times.
2013 got off to a flying start for "Lions Pride" with the New Years Day Cruise to the Williamstown Botanic Gardens proving to be a most enjoyable afternoon. What a fabulous foreshore location.....itís certainly an area which warrants further exploration and discovery. The Bunnings fundraiser at Pakenham was strongly supported by the membership.....having 16 Classic Holdens on display was a very impressive effort and most appropriate for the Australia Day Weekend. Many hands did indeed make light work! I thank all those who gave generously of their time and appreciate the ongoing committment that Kym shows in making this event the financial and social success it continues to be.
As I write these few lines the "Black Saturday Remembrance Cruise" is just a few days away and I hope that "Lions Pride" once again strongly supports this worthwhile cause. I also remind you all of our Club sponsor, Autobarn Narre Warrenís, Show n' Shine on the 23rd of February. This evening event will be attended by Dan Bowden who will no doubt be demonstrating his families first class automotive care products. Itís a great opportunity to meet Dan and Gavin who not only support us but who are also true enthusiasts.......
Elsewhere in these pages you will find information concerning ďThe Phillip Island Classic"........itís a great privilege for us to be invited to this world class VHRR event. If you are interested, it is necessary to be aware of certain requirements........entry is by preordered ticket only as our space allocation is strictly limited, it is also necessary to enter all together as a Club. This will be the third year that "Lions Pride" has participated in this fantastic event.....I always find that my commitment for the whole weekend is still not enough.......there is simply so much to appreciate and enjoy....... yes I know that I've got it bad, but itís all about making the most of the opportunity.
Until Next Time,
